Scott Simpson discovered scuba diving and quickly realized it was much more than a hobby—it was a passion that would shape his future. After progressing through the PADI professional ranks, he found his true calling: mentoring and developing the next generation of PADI Professionals.

As a PADI IDC Staff Instructor, Scott leads Divers Cove's Divemaster and Instructor Development Program, working closely with our PADI Course Director to prepare Divemaster candidates and Instructor Development Course (IDC) candidates for successful careers in the dive industry.

Scott is passionate about developing dive leaders who are knowledgeable, confident, and professional. He believes that great instructors are built through mentorship, experience, and a commitment to lifelong learning. Whether he's coaching leadership skills, refining teaching techniques, or helping candidates prepare for the PADI Instructor Examination, Scott enjoys watching students grow into capable dive professionals.

Although he teaches divers at every level, Scott's favorite course is the PADI Rescue Diver Course. He enjoys seeing divers build confidence, improve their problem-solving skills, and learn how to prevent and manage dive emergencies. He believes Rescue Diver training is one of the most rewarding and valuable courses a diver can take.

When he's not mentoring future dive professionals, you'll often find Scott on a night dive, his favorite type of diving. He loves experiencing how the underwater world comes alive after sunset and enjoys introducing other divers to the unique adventure of night diving.

Now retired from his career as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Scott is embracing his next adventure—traveling the world and exploring new dive destinations. Whether he's leading professional training at Divers Cove or planning his next international dive trip, his passion for scuba diving and developing others continues to inspire everyone around him.
