PADI DISCOVER SCUBA DIVING

Try Scuba Diving in Fort Lauderdale

Have you ever wondered what it feels like to breathe underwater?

PADI Discover Scuba Diving is a beginner scuba experience designed for people who want to try scuba diving without enrolling in a full certification course.

For $149, you'll learn the basics of scuba diving with a PADI Professional and experience scuba in the controlled environment of a swimming pool.

No previous scuba experience or scuba certification is required.

What Is PADI Discover Scuba Diving?

Discover Scuba Diving is an introductory scuba experience—not a scuba certification course.

Your PADI Professional will introduce you to scuba equipment, explain important safety concepts and help you become comfortable breathing underwater.

You'll then enter the pool and experience scuba diving firsthand.

The goal is simple: give you a safe, professionally supervised introduction to scuba diving and let you discover whether you want to take the next step toward certification.

$149 All-Inclusive Discover Scuba Experience

Your Discover Scuba Diving experience includes:

• PADI Professional supervision

• Pool training

• BCD

• Regulator

• Scuba tank

• Weights

• Required scuba equipment for the session

There is no ocean dive included in the $149 Discover Scuba Diving experience.

What Will I Learn?

Before entering the water, your PADI Professional will introduce you to your scuba equipment and explain some of the basic concepts you need to know before breathing underwater.

In the pool, you'll become comfortable using scuba equipment and practice introductory skills under direct supervision.

Depending on your comfort and progression, your experience may include fundamentals such as:

• Breathing underwater through a regulator

• Becoming comfortable with scuba equipment

• Clearing water from your regulator

• Recovering your regulator

• Clearing your mask

• Basic underwater communication

• Moving comfortably underwater

• Introduction to buoyancy

This isn't about rushing through skills. It's about giving you a positive first experience underwater.

Who Is Discover Scuba Diving For?

PADI Discover Scuba Diving is ideal if you've never tried scuba before and want to experience it before committing to certification.

It can also be a great experience for:

• Someone considering scuba certification

• Couples looking for something different to do together

• Families interested in learning to scuba dive

• Travelers considering scuba for a future vacation

• Anyone curious about what breathing underwater actually feels like

You don't need to own scuba equipment or have previous diving experience.

Is Discover Scuba a Scuba Certification?

No.

PADI Discover Scuba Diving is an introductory experience and does not make you a certified scuba diver.

If you enjoy your experience and want to dive independently with a buddy, participate in dive trips and continue developing your scuba skills, your next step is the PADI Open Water Diver course.

From Discover Scuba to PADI Open Water Diver

Many people aren't sure whether they want to commit to scuba certification until they've actually experienced breathing underwater.

That's exactly where Discover Scuba fits.

Try scuba in the pool first. Get comfortable with the equipment. Experience being underwater. Then decide whether you want to continue.

If you love it, Divers Cove can help you move into the PADI Open Water Diver certification course, where you'll complete the knowledge development, confined-water training and open-water dives required to become a certified diver.

Why Try Scuba With Divers Cove?

Divers Cove has been training South Florida divers since 1988 and is a PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Dive Center located in Davie, Florida.

We serve new and experienced divers throughout Fort Lauderdale, Davie, Plantation, Weston, Cooper City, Pembroke Pines, Hollywood and the surrounding South Florida area.

Our goal for your Discover Scuba experience isn't to pressure you into becoming a diver.

It's to give you a professional introduction to scuba so you can experience it for yourself.

What Happens After Discover Scuba?

If you finish the pool session thinking, “I want to do this in the ocean,” it's time to become a certified diver.

The PADI Open Water Diver course is the next step.

You'll develop your scuba knowledge and skills, complete your required training dives and earn a PADI certification that allows you to continue your diving journey.

Divers Cove's Open Water program includes four ocean boat dives, giving new divers the opportunity to complete their certification while experiencing real South Florida ocean diving.
