The Hunt for the Golden Skull

Celebrate Halloween Divers Cove style with a special two-tank Wreck & Reef Fun Dive off Fort Lauderdale!

Grab your buddy, break out your scuba-safe Halloween costume, and join the Divers Cove dive community for an afternoon of underwater Halloween fun featuring The Hunt for the Golden Skull, a reef scavenger hunt, costume competition, underwater photo challenge and prizes.

Open to all certified divers — PADI Open Water Diver or equivalent certification minimum.

DIVE 1: THE HUNT FOR THE GOLDEN SKULL

Our first dive is planned as a Fort Lauderdale wreck dive, where the Halloween treasure hunt begins!

Divers Cove staff will place designated Halloween treasure markers in safe, accessible areas before the hunt begins.

Search the wreck for hidden treasure and numbered markers — but keep your eyes open for the ultimate prize:

THE GOLDEN SKULL!

Find it and claim the Halloween Grand Prize!

All treasure-hunt activities will remain within recreational diving limits and will not require wreck penetration. All event markers will be retrieved after the dive.

DIVE 2: HALLOWEEN REEF SCAVENGER HUNT

For our second dive, we'll drift along one of Fort Lauderdale's beautiful reefs for a Halloween-themed underwater scavenger hunt.

Each buddy team will receive a scavenger-hunt challenge before entering the water.

Keep your eyes open for marine life, colors, unusual shapes and Halloween-worthy photo opportunities as you drift along the reef.

Spot a turtle? Points.

Find a moray eel? More points.

Something orange?

A great photo of your costumed buddy underwater? Even better!

No touching or collecting marine life — this hunt is all about observation, photography and having fun while respecting the reef.

COSTUMES ENCOURAGED!

Come dressed for Halloween and compete for Best Underwater Costume.

Costumes must be scuba-safe and cannot interfere with your mask, regulator, BCD, weights, hoses, gauges, releases, fins, buddy access or ability to safely control your equipment.

Safety always comes before style — although we're hoping for plenty of both!

HALLOWEEN UNDERWATER PHOTO CHALLENGE

Bring your GoPro or underwater camera and capture the Halloween fun.

We'll be looking for the most creative, funny and memorable photos from the day.

Submit your favorite shots after the dive for a chance to be featured on Divers Cove social media and compete for our Halloween photo prize.

DOCKSIDE AWARDS & PRIZES

Check-in: 12:30 PM
Return to dock: Approximately 4:30 PM

After the boat returns, stick around for a quick Halloween celebration at the dockside picnic tables while we hand out prizes and announce our winners.

Awards will include:

• Golden Skull Grand Prize

• Best Halloween Costume

• Best Buddy/Group Costume

• Halloween Scavenger Hunt Winner

• Best Underwater Halloween Photo — announced after photo submissions

Then you're free to head off and enjoy the rest of your Halloween evening!

WHO CAN JOIN?

This fun dive is open to all certified divers.

Minimum certification: PADI Open Water Diver or equivalent.

Divers should be comfortable diving from a boat in South Florida ocean conditions. Final wreck and reef sites are selected by the captain based on weather, current and conditions on the day of the dive.
