Donovan van Staden is a IDC Staff Instructor and pilot who shares his love of scuba diving with others. He enjoys teaching the PADI Rescue Diver course and empowering his students with skills to handle emergencies. Donovan's family shares his passion for adventure and they enjoy exploring the ocean together. He also enjoys traditional South African braai and connecting with loved ones. Donovan's dedication to his passions inspires others to explore the depths of the ocean.

Doug Rencher is one of Divers Cove's Master Scuba Diver Trainers who has found his true passion in teaching scuba diving and exploring the wonders of the underwater world. When he is not jet-setting across the globe with his beloved wife, Doug dedicates his time to sharing his extensive knowledge and experience with aspiring divers at Divers Cove. With an impressive travel resume, Doug is undoubtedly the most worldly traveled instructor on the team. Having dived in countless breathtaking locations, he has captured the essence of these underwater adventures through his exceptional photography skills.

Jason Ratner is a passionate PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer who deeply loves the underwater world. As a proud father of three children and a former high school principal, Jason brings his nurturing and educational background into his scuba diving career. With years of experience in scuba diving and teaching, Jason has developed a reputation for building solid relationships with his students. He takes great pride in helping them overcome their fears, develop their skills, and become confident divers. Jason's friendly and patient demeanor creates a comfortable and supportive learning environment, ensuring each student feels empowered and motivated to excel.

Scott Simpson is a passionate PADI Master Scuba Diver trainer who has developed a deep love for the underwater world in a remarkably short time. Captivated by the enchanting experience of scuba diving, he swiftly pursued his instructor certification to impart the joy of taking that first breath beneath the surface to new divers. Among the various diving specialties, Scott's absolute favorite is night diving. Exploring the depths under the cover of darkness, he is enthralled by the incredible diversity of life that emerges in the shadows. With an unwavering commitment to safety and a keen eye for detail, Scott builds strong relationships with his students, guiding them through their training and helping them excel in their PADI specialties.

I started diving when I was 12 years old, beginning in the cold lakes of Colorado. Since then, I’ve taken dive trips all over the world, including Bali, the Caribbean, and Mexico. I moved to South Florida in 2019 to attend Nova Southeastern University, where I earned my B.S. in Criminal Justice. I’m now preparing to begin law school in the fall of 2026. Scuba diving has always been a form of serenity for me, a way to escape and reset. I originally became a Divemaster to deepen my knowledge of the sport, but working with Divers Cove has given me a new passion: helping others discover the magic of diving. I love introducing beginners to the underwater world and assisting more experienced divers in sharpening their skills and boosting their confidence.

Bea’s journey into diving started with a simple gift—five years ago, her best friend surprised her with a scuba course. From her very first breath underwater, she was hooked. What began as a one-time experience quickly turned into a passion that shaped her lifestyle and career.

Bea has been part of the Divers Cove family for over three years, starting as a Divemaster and now working as a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor. She loves sharing her passion with students and helping new divers experience the same excitement she felt on her first dive.

When she’s not teaching, Bea travels the world in search of unforgettable underwater encounters—especially whale sharks and other incredible shark species. Her adventurous spirit and love for the ocean are matched only by her deep compassion for animals.

Outside of diving, Bea works at a veterinary clinic, where she continues to make a difference in the lives of animals every day. Her love for marine life and animals is truly infectious—and her knowledge of fish is impressive, so don’t challenge her!

Above all, Bea is a proud mom to Cruz, balancing family, diving, and her passion for animal care with energy and heart.
