For more than 15 years, Doug Rencher has been inspiring divers to explore the underwater world with confidence while capturing its beauty through the lens of a camera.

As a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer and Divers Cove's PADI Underwater Photography Specialist, Doug has found the perfect combination of his two greatest passions—teaching scuba diving and documenting the incredible marine life and dive destinations he has experienced around the world.

Doug and his wife have traveled extensively, diving some of the world's most spectacular locations. His global diving adventures have given him a unique perspective that he brings into every class, sharing real-world experiences, travel tips, and practical knowledge that help students become more capable and confident divers.

Doug is especially passionate about teaching PADI Underwater Photography and Videography, helping divers learn how to capture unforgettable underwater memories while respecting and protecting the marine environment. His calm, patient teaching style makes these courses enjoyable for photographers of every skill level, from beginners using action cameras to experienced divers looking to improve their underwater imaging.

Beyond photography, Doug loves teaching a wide range of PADI Specialty Courses, believing that every specialty adds new skills, confidence, and opportunities for adventure. Whether it's improving buoyancy, exploring wrecks, or mastering underwater photography, Doug enjoys helping divers continue their education long after earning their Open Water certification.

One thing that's changed over the years is Doug's favorite piece of dive equipment—his BARE drysuit. After years of diving around the world, he has become a firm believer that staying warm underwater makes every dive more enjoyable. Even better, he jokes that his favorite part is getting off the boat dry after the dive!
