How do I tell if my gear needs service ?
Regulators and BCD's
It is recommended by most manufactures of scuba equipment that you have your
gear serviced every year whether it has been used or not. This is because there are sensitive parts and seals in
regulators and BCD's that are under spring tensions. If these seals fail,
so will your gear. Remember this is life support equipment that you need
to breath!
Scubapro and Aqualung "Free Parts For Life" warrantees will only
stay in effect if you have your gear services annually. If you want to receive free parts bring your gear in every year.
If you feel your gear is not working correctly (strange leaks,
breaths hard) please bring it in and let us have a look at it. There is no charge for a diagnosis.
Scuba Tanks
It is required by law (The Department of Transportation) that EVERY tank have
a Hydrostatic Test every 5 years. For the safety of our employees and
customers we will not fill tanks that are out of 'Hydro'
Tanks must also have a Visual Inspection every year. For the safety of
our employees and customers we will not fill tanks that are out of 'VIS'

My scuba tank is very old, will you fill it?
If you have a tank manufactured by LUXFER before June, 1988 or any tank
manufactured by USD (U S Divers) or
WK, we
will not service or fill these tanks. If you have a tank that is really old that does not fall into the above
category, give us a call and we'll tell you if we
can fill it.

What do I need to bring with me when I
bring in my gear for service?
If you have Scubapro or Aqualung equipment purchased from a
certified dealer, you should have warrantee cards (Scubapro and Uwatec) or a
warrantee/users manual (Aqualung and SeaQuest). Bring them to the shop to
receive your Free Parts For Life.

What percentage of oxygen can I get in my NITROX
fills at Divers Cove?
We will fill up to 40% oxygen. Your tank MUST be O2 cleaned because we
do not use pre-mixed blends. We actually blend the percentage you want on-site.
In other word, we are pumping pure oxygen into your cylinder. We must make sure
there is no oil residue in you scuba cylinder.
Since we mix on site we must have 24 hours to fill your NITROX tanks.

If my friend/relative takes scuba classes at
Divers Cove, can I go on the ocean dives with them if I am a certified diver?
We do allow you to join your friend/relatives on their Open Water dives on the boat.
You will pay for the dive and any rental gear you may need. However,
we do not allow
friends/parents/relatives to join the students in the classroom or pool
sessions. We want our students to give 100%
of their attention to the instructor.

What Pool do you use?
We either use Plantation Central Park Pool or Pine Island Pool for our dive classes and refresher
courses. Please ask the shop for details. Click here
for a map to Plantation Central Park Pool or

Where are the ocean dives for
classes?
We usually use the Scubatyme boat for most of our dive classes (for a map
There are however a few occasions where the Scubatyme is not able to accommodate
our needs so we will use the American Dream II instead (click
here
for a map).
